This was a nice club, but the facilities need a ton of TLC. I would recommend this place to friends on the south side.
This facility may have been the site of the Olympics but these are the practice fields, and since they are publicly-owned you can see very little goes back into facilities. Don’t come looking for Olympic quality machines or fancy facilities.
The shooting was great! Even old, old equipment can toss clay. The staff we met were nice people, and like some of the previous reviews indicate, they are very confident in themselves. Their confidence wasn’t a problem, but you had to just smile back.
The facilities have potential with some cleaning, paint, and repair. The club house has nice meeting spaces and seated viewing areas, and tons of clutter and junk and taped-up signage. The five stand is a converted trap field, and the windows need some repair, and a cover would be nice.
I’ll come back when I’m on the south side, but I won’t make a special trip.

My 23 year old son and I visited the club on Memorial Day. We were very impressed with the club, the staff and the other shooters. Our interest was in the five stand and we had a great time. Very surprised at how inexpensive it was to shoot 4 rounds in a metropolitan area. With ten machines on the five stand field, there was plenty of challenging target combinations.
Will visit again when in the area.

Great place to shoot. great for anyone, beginners to expert, and the two can shoot together. The lady working the clays was great, she told it like it was and what you did right or wrong. I will be back.

My husband, 14 yr old daughter and myself had a great experience today. The employees were helpful and super nice. Mr. Bill was very helpful in teaching our group. We hope to get some lessons to be more proficient. My daughter is very interested in shooting. I think you won’t see the last of our family at your facility. Thank you for a positive experience.

I came with my wife and 2 sons for the Saturday 10:30 AM beginners course. This is a fantastic bargain at less than $15/person. The course started on time. The instruction was good and not too long nor too short. We were then broken up into smaller groups and got to try it out. The instructor that came with us was friendly and helpful and did his best to get everyone a chance to shoot as quickly as possible.
You should allow a 2 to 2 1/2 hours for the whole thing. There is a nice lounge if someone comes along who does not want to shoot. There was a person selling hot dogs and burgers thru lunch -but i’m not sure they are always there.
Anyway if you’ve never done it before and want a different family activity this is one to try. I saw children as young as 10 shooting without a problem.

Tom Lowe provides a wonderful shooting experience and group environment with it’s active league shooting. The Tuesday night league offers trap and skeet every week. A light competitive spirit and fast friends makes Tuesday nights at Tom Lowe a very great time for beginners and experienced shooters. Please join us Tuesday nights at 6.

Great Experience!
This was my first skeet shooting experience and I loved it.
My co-worker invited me and his boss (her first time also).
I would have to say the puller (Judy) made the experience unforgettable.
At first we did not know how to take her (a bit rough on the edges) but with the kind of straight forwardness I learned to appreciate.
Very helpful, very friendly and very knowledgeable. I hope to have her as my puller for our return visit. Next time, we will take a few more co-workers along, and let Judy on them. Can’t wait to hear their feed back. Thanks for a great time!

While on a weekend visit to Atlanta I decided to take my wife trap shooting. She had never shot a shotgun before as far as I can remember. We had a great time. I loved the rental O/U rental gun I used. The inside staff was very friendly. The puller was okay, maybe could have been a bit more helpful since my wife was shooting for her first time. We will be back again. Thanks for a nice place to shoot.

Each time I visit this facility I learn something from the lady puller (sorry don’t know the name). She is also very friendly and offers advice in a barbed, but good natured manner which only makes you want to shoot better.
The inside staff is also very friendly and makes each visit enjoyable.

This is the first time I went and the people were great. Everything was great and wanted to say the lady we had made the shoot unreal.

The two pullers we had were very rude. I told David we were newby’s and we needed some pointers. He stated that the girl puller was a great shooter and would help us. I asked her if I should close one eye when I shoot. The female puller responded “If you want lessons it will cost $100 per hour.” She just pointed to stations and grunted. I called her out on her attitude and she lightened up a bit but not much. We then went to the trap side and her son pulled there. Just terrible and rude!
I spoke to David about my disappointment and he said he had many complaints on her and apologized. Then we were blessed with meeting Cheng (customer/instructor). He was friendly and helpful. David let us borrow a gun (the one I brought was full choke) for our troubles and Cheng helped us a bit. Wow! What a different experience. Girl puller was nicer, Cheng was absolutely amazing and my friend and I had a great final round.
Luke, please sit down with your people and teach them some manners. You’re the only game in town but even that won’t keep people coming back if you don’t get better folks.

My son and I came out for the first time Saturday Nov. 15, 2008, it had been years since I shot and he never had at age 15. We got there at 10 am for the new learner class. They were busy but had time for our questions and everyone we meet was very helpful. The instructors were great and safety was first for everyone. I am going to bring my other boys out, also the guys at work would love this. Thanks for a great time.

My wife and I took the beginners course last Saturday. The instructors were very helpful and we had a blast. The clubhouse staff was friendly when we got the before the class (10:30) and seemed harried when we returned our guns after 1. We’ll definitely be back and I’ll probably look at joining the beginner trap league on Sun.
I will say if you’re going to take the beginner’s course get there before 10:30!

I brought my boyfriend here for his bday and he loved it! He had never done this type of shooting before so it was exciting for him and he did a great job for his first time. Very friendly staff as well so that was good..On the other hand, “WOMEN” do be warned this type of shooting can hurt if not done properly…I had a big knot on my shoulder from the gun impact so I do not recommend it for women. A bit disorganized but the older guy (not sure of his name) who did the Clinic on 6/14 was great! My boyfriend plans to go back one day with a few of his buddies…
NOTE FROM WEBMASTER: Women, while the above is obviously the honest opinion of the writer, many women have no problem with recoil. I have seen 90 lb. women handle a 12 gauge shotgun with no problem. Experience is key. Come shoot!

VERY nice facility. Great people and the staff is VERY friendly. Some clubs/ranges have expert “crack” shooters that make newbies feel uneasy. Not so here! Yes there are GREAT shooters that do come but with ATL being so large there are also LOTS of new shooter that arrive everyday (not Fri. there closed). If you have an old gun bring it along and have the guys inside take care of it for you!

I shot some world class events here when it was the wolf creek club. The place is truly top notch. Great experience.

I recently made my first visit to Tom Lowe’s which was also only my second time handling a shotgun. My friend had never handled a firearm before. We were both treated with the utmost courtesy. Any questions we had were not treated like a bother even though the place was very busy. Once we were on the trap line we showed just how new to shotguns we were and were once again amazed by the patience of the staff AND the other shooters. They were all quick with a word of advice and encouragement without “teaching the newbies”. Overall a great time and plan on many return trips.

I shot skeet for my first time there and found the entire experience to be amazing. Dave from the pro shop was a lot of help and explained everything to my friend and I, and even showed us everything we would need to know about the gun we borrowed from another friend. Once out on the range the other people shooting in our group and the puller were a lot of help and gave us tips and help along the way that helped tremendously to our success in hitting targets and made us feel welcome and comfortable around skilled and talented shooters. I definitely recommend this range for anyone, first time to professional

Great place for beginner to expert shooters, with polite staff and knowledgeable management. I always have a fun time there. The one con is that there are frequent equipment problems, and some of the machines are always down, especially on the 5-stand. Other than that, a really friendly place to learn to shoot or to get regular practice, and the prices are very reasonable.

I have been at the Tom Lowe Range about 5 times. It appears well managed and is well kept. My instructor, David Akridge is excellent. The owner, Luke treated me very well and quite respectfully. The staff has been most helpful in anything that I have requested. They do, by the way have great prices on Beretta shotguns.

This is a great place to shoot. The staff is friendly and helpful. They offer a first time shooters class which is very informative and helpful. It’s a great place to take a kid to learn to shoot. Every time I’ve been it has been a positve experience.

This past Saturday I took my 18 year old son to Tom Lowe skeet range. Being that this was my son’s first time with a shotgun and shooting skeet, I scheduled to have David Akrigde (instructor) join us. What an absolute homerun this day turned out to be. David is not only a expert shooter, but he is also an expert teacher. You could clearly tell that David not only loves the sport, he loves teaching new people about the sport. We were very impressed with the facilities and everyone associated with the range was very polite and helpful. We plan on going back and scheduling David again within the next 2-weeks.
Thanks for a wonderful day David. See ya soon.

Over the past nine years, we have worked hard to make new shooters feel welcome. After reading the last two reviews, it seems that we have failed recently in a few instances. I can assure you I do not condone rudeness nor will I allow my customers to be treated that way. Please bring to my attention any negative experiences you have at our trap & skeet range. My e-mail address is LWDarms@aol.com and my cell phone number is (770) 241-2609.

The facilities are exceptional, however, prices are high.
Staff seems to act snotty, not exceptionally friendly. Even management displayed signs of conflict and lack of tact. Great place for young adults to learn firearm safety and release teenage frustrations…

Pros:
– The facility has plenty of space to shoot, and the crowds were not bad at all.
– The rental guns were quite nice. The one I got was a Beretta semi-auto 12ga.
– The prices were reasonable: $9 for the gun rental, $6.50 for a range token, ammo at typical prices
Cons:
– The pro shop is staffed by guys who are better than you, and know it. They seemed annoyed that a newb would even show up there.
– The scorekeepers/”pullers” (sorry I’m not sure what you call them) are really hit or miss. One was fun and personable, another could not complete a full sentence or make eye contact. Check out your person BEFORE you invest 30 minutes with them.

This facility was the former site of the 1996 Olympic shooting venue. The club has well manicured standard skeet and trap fields as well as international targets. The five stand set-up is challenging but not discouraging for novice shooters. Shooting is available daily except Friday. Night shooting is also available for those who want to shoot after work.
There is a professionally managed pro shop offering an excellent selection of Beretta Brand guns and items as well as various ammo, accessories and supplies for the casual shooter or serious competitor. Soft drinks and candy are available at all times and during scheduled shoots a vendor is on-site to prepare sandwiches, salads, burgers and other items.
On Mondays the fees are reduced for trap, skeet and 5 stand. Shooters come to the facility from all around the Atlanta area. Since the club is close to the airport, many visitors stop by before or after a trip to break a few clays and meet with friends at the facility.
Expert but friendly shooters abound in the Atlanta area. Casual advice is freely given on the fields by the regular shooters. Professional instruction is available from top ranked, certified instructors for those interested in fine tuning their skills or those wanting to learn proper technique from the beginning. Come visit and join the fun!! Remember, hearing and vision protection is required for all participants and is recommended for those watching close-by.

I have been to this facility several times and it is very well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The Pullers will give feedback your form if you ask. Well stocked “Pro Shop” and concession stand. You can shoot Skeet Staffed or self-pull. I truely enjoy this facility.
