While visiting in Syracuse, NY my son and I decided to shoot sporting clays and found the Vernon National Shooting Preserve through ClayTargetsOnline. We met the owner Ron Acee when we arrived and he was very welcoming. We rented a shotgun and shot 13 of the stations. Ron had explained that the 14th station was closed as it faced the hunting fields for pheasant hunting. The sporting clays course is in a beautiful location with rolling hills and ravines. The course layout was terrific with bird presentations from every angle and even shots down into the ravines. Some of the stations are quite challenging but each one is interesting and fun to shoot. Great facility with a wonderful course. I will definitely shoot it again when I come to Central NY again.

Great place nice target and very nice owners. I was on vacation in the area and stopped by and it was well worth it. If your in the area it’s worth your time to stop by and shoot a round.

Just got back from a shoot at the club. I was so impressed with the lay out and Ron and Jason I signed up as a member. This club is headed in the right direction with its sporting clays and 5 stand. Cant wait to start shooting here every weekend.

If you have never shot at the “Best Kept Secret” in Upstate NY, you owe it to yourself to Vernon National. 14 stations of Sporting Clays, using their varied terrain of fields, gorges, ravines, trees, and hedge rows, make one fantastic course. Weather you are the casual shooter or the competitive gunner, Vernon National will challenge everyone. Add to that 500 acres of Hunting Preserve, and you have a wingshooters dream. Ron Acee and his son Jason, have developed a truly fantastic facility, and every sporting clay and wingshooter should make Vernon National a “Must Shoot”, when in Central NY.

Vernon National has really outdone themselves when it comes to their sporting clays course. They just held a benefit shoot for the Wounded Warrior project and set a 14 station, fully automatic course which was outstanding. They have a ton of land to make this one of the best places in central NY for sporting clays. Ron and Jason Acee are great people, give them a call or just stop by Sunday for a great round of clays.
