WLRG is a top shelf place to shoot trap. Located in the NW corner of Rhode Island on a rather large property. They have 8 fields and 1 practice. Most of the time only two or three are in use. They shoot on Wednesday night 6 to ? & Saturday 10 to ?. The first weekend of June they host the RI state shoot. A few smaller shoots are also hosted throughout the year. The cost to shoot is $3.50 a round, as of June 2013.
Hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, clam chowder (really great), drinks, etc. are offered on Sat.
I been shooting at WLRG regularly for a few years … a few of the older gents have given me some very useful advice.
In addition, are a fair number of women shooters, from novice to state champs.
Finally, I gotten to be friendly with a number of husband/wife shooters. They seem very happy, unlike too many couples.
